Listeria Express Enrichment Broth (LEE Broth) is a selective enrichment broth for the detection of Listeria from foods and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.Developed to give improved growth rates of Listeria over traditional selective enrichment media, LEE Broth enhances the expression of target antigens for most commercially available immunological test kits/methods whilst maintaining adequate suppression of potential non-target organisms. Selective components are blended into the powder, removing the requirement for supplementation.Compared with more traditional methods, immunological tests, such as ELISA, require relatively high levels of target organisms to achieve a reliable positive result. NEOGEN Pseudomonas Agar Base, 500 g
Pseudomonas Agar Base is used for the selective and differential isolation of Pseudomonas sp. using CN or CFC supplementation and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. Pseudomonas Agar Base was developed to be supplemented with CN X107 (Cetrimide & Nalidixic Acid) as per ISO 16266-2:2018, or with CFC X108 (Cetrimide, Fusidate, & Cephaloridine) as per ISO 13720:2010. This base formula is a modification of King’s A Medium. NEOGEN Brilliant Green Agar (Modified), 500 g
Brilliant Green Agar is used for the selection and differentiation of Salmonella (other than S. typhi) from foods or feedstuffs. Brilliant Green Agar is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. First introduced by Kristensen et al in 1925 as a selective medium for the isolation of Salmonella (except S. typhi). The medium was modified by the Netherlands Institute for Public Health, Utrecht. The modification was to increase the selectivity of the medium by increasing the dye concentration. This formulation is quoted by the International Standards Organization, standard European Community Methods, the American Public Health Association and the Association of Official Analytical Chemists. The medium is suitable for subcultures from selective enrichment media. Pseudomonas Isolation Agar is used for the isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Pseudomonas spp. in a laboratory setting. Pseudomonas Isolation Agar is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. Pseudomonas Isolation Agar is based on Medium A described by King, Ward, and Raney. This medium is very useful for isolating Pseudomonas spp. Pseudomonas Isolation Agar includes Irgasan®, a potent broad spectrum antimicrobial not active against Pseudomonas spp. This medium is selective and formulated to enhanced formation of blue or blue-green pyocyanin pigment by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This medium was formulated to replace blood with charcoal, ferrous sulfate, and sodium pyruvate. To improve selectivity, cefoperazone replaced cephazolin in the original formulation. Bolton et al recommended incubating inoculated plates at 37°C to improve isolation rates. Yeast and fungal contaminants are inhibited with the addition of amphotericin B.
